Pokkén takes that basic fighting game formula and adds quite a bit of additional layers to it. Now, Nintendo has brought the quirky game over to the Switch, and we examine what sorts of new features and changes come with the reissue in our Pokkén Tournament DX review and whether it’s still worth coming back to a couple years later. The result was a hectic brawler that juggled both the cartoonish thrill of the Pokémon cartoon (as opposed to the slower, turn-based video games), and the complex skills needed for most fighters. The 2015 Wii U fighter lashed together the classic Pokémon battle style with modern 3D and 2D fighting franchises like Marvel vs Capcom and Tekken.
